We dreamed and hoped. Back in 2015, when the festival „Junge Klassik“ realized as an idea in the Laufenburg Castle, we learned that dreams can come true. The festival „Junge Klassik“ had great success right from the start. The second year saw concert visitors from all over the region. A recent highlight was the sold out concerts in the summer of 2017.
We look forward to welcome you to the 8th festival „Junge Klassik“ this year and invite you to be there again, when young, highly talented musicians make the beauty and depth of chamber music discoverable and vivid.
The festival „Junge Klassik“ premiered in 2015 as part of the Laufenburg Kulturtage. The initiator was the then 18-year-old cellist Cellistin Natalia Dauer from Bad Säckingen. The young cellist is a prizewinner of the Volksbank Hochrheinstiftung and was in search for a forum for highly talented and aspiring musicians of the young generation, which offers the opportunity to perform. The city of Laufenburg liked the idea. Natalia Dauer took over the artistic direction of the festival, the City of Laufenburg managed the organization.
The main target group of the “Junge Klassik” are those interested in culture and classical music of all generations, but especially young people.
The villa, which was completely renovated some ten years ago, was once the refuge of the “Castle Lady”, Mary Codman, a wealthy american lady. The couple Codman from Boston had acquired the villa in 1894. Mary Codman was very interested in culture and was in contact with many artists of her time. The castle lady regularly invited to concert evenings in their refuge high above the Rhine.
Since refurbishment, there is a Café & Restaurant on the ground floor. The panorama room on the upper floor with a wonderful view of the sister city Laufenburg CH offers space for just over 100 concert visitors.
As a non-profit association, Festival Junge Klassik is financed 50 % with the entry fees and the other 50 % with donations and sponsors.
There are costs for hall and travel, material and organizational expenses.
Festival Junge Klassik (n.e.V.) fulfills the conditions for tax relief and was declared charitable by the tax office Waldshut-Tiengen. Donations are confirmed once a year and are tax deductible.Especially in the present time it is not self-evident that music lovers are willing to support the art and culture of the Junge Klassik.
